The Blue Mountain Backpackers is right in the middle of things on bustling Long Street, housed in a three-story Victorian building that served as a hotel at the turn of the 20th century. Tuck yourself in a wood-frame bunk in a 4- or 6-bed dormitory or choose a private room. The hostel has plenty to keep you busy: a lounge with big-screen TV and fireplace, communal kitchen, outdoor recreational space with BBQ, computer room and tours. No AC, but the wrap-around balconies have mountain views.
