Historically frequented by artists and actors, Kemptown is Brighton's LGBTQ quarter, brimming with gay bars, clubs, shops, restaurants and guesthouses, particularly around St. James street. Architecture is a mix of Victorian and Regency, with the added charms of green squares, grand seafront crescents and narrow streets for an exquisite village feel. It plays host to the Gay Village Party during Pride.
