Gordon's Wine Bar is a throw-back to 19th century London with a candle-lit cave and outdoor patio, weather allowing. It serves premium wines, cheese boards, cold plates and homemade pork pies. Established in 1890 by a vintner, it may be the city's oldest wine bar. Samuel Pepys lived upstairs in Kipling House in the 1680s.
