First commisoned by Sophie Charlotte, the wife of Friedrich III, Elector of Brandenburg, the palace saw itself continually expanded under the Prussian kings to include an orangery, a tea house, and a mausloeum. Strolls through the baroque gardens are especially marvelous. It is the largest palace in Berlin.
