Newly affiliated with the Smithsonian Museum, the California African American Museum exhibits African art, 19th century academic and naturalistic landscape, modern and contemporary art growing out of the Harlem Renaissance and contemporary art from the African diaspora. The small museum, established in the early 1980s, was refurbished in 2003. Admission is free.
