The Palm Springs Air Museum displays military aircraft from WWII, Korea and Vietnam in air-conditioned hangars. The museum is unique in that it is one of the world's largest collections of flyable WWII planes and encourages visitors to interact with exhibits. Rides on vintage "warbirds" - C-47 Skytrain and PT 17 - can be arrange through the gift shop. Open since 1999, it also hosts special exhibits and programs.
