The section of Commercial Street between Bangs and Standish is Provincetown's own art scene. Known as the East End Gallery District, this little patch is packed with world-class galleries that would be just as comfortable in downtown Manhattan or Paris. The city offers a free gallery guide for visitors, with blurbs outlining the specialties of each storefront. Works for sale include items from the old masters, as well as more contemporary offerings, and warm summer evenings will often see the galleries opening their doors for intimate viewing parties.
