Australia's oldest park, Hyde Park is a swath of shady lawn divided into two sections by Park Street. The 40-acre (16.2 ha) park is popular with sunbathers, strollers and various festivals. Its most distinctive monument is the ANZAC War Memorial to WWI soldiers, an Art Deco ziggurat in red granite by the Pool of Reflection.
