The Nice Opera is a venue not only for opera but also the Ballet Nice Méditerrannée and the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra. The building, a historic monument since 1992, was constructed in 1882 and designed by Francois Aune in collaboration with Charles Garnier, who created the Palais Garnier in Paris and the Nice Observatory.
