Built to host the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, the Olympisch Stadion was considered a 'model for the future' back then. It was during the 1928 Olympic Games that the tradition of a Olympic Flame started, and the first one ever was lit here. Since then, the stadium has become a hub for national and international events, including matches, concerts, celebrations and memorials. Guided tours are available on request.
