The most history-rich part of the old city might just be the Neumarkt quarter, where along the eponymous street are beautiful examples of homes from the Middle Ages (the most popular being the Shoemaker's Guild House and Haus zum Rech). There is also plenty in the way of boutiques and second-handshops, making it a perfect spot for flaneuring.
